New blood test can diagnose bipolar disorder

It’s an innovation that scientists are describing as a revolution. EDIT-B is a simple blood test that helps differentiate between depression and bipolar disorder, enabling doctors to establish a diagnosis within four weeks, compared to eight to 10 years currently. Bipolar disorder is a chronic mental illness affecting more than 46 million people worldwide, and for which medical misdiagnosis is common. FRANCE 24’s Julia Sieger tells us more.
